About the Guest Speaker – Muhammad Anwar Khan
Mohammad Anwar Khan is a seasoned entrepreneur, a FinTech and digital payments expert for 38 years. Anwar has been recognized as a Mover and Shaker of the payments industry. As founder and president of ViVOtech, a pioneering NFC software, and systems company, from 2001 to 2013, Anwar personally evangelized and drove mobile payments to make it a global reality, being used globally as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and NFC mobile -contactless card payments today.
Prior to ViVOtech, Anwar was a founding member of Verifone, a global leader in providing digital payments solutions for merchants, worked there for 15 years, and was the head of products to drive its presence globally. Currently, Anwar is President and Cofounder of Omnyway, to enable merchants to deliver a seamless digital shopping experience to their shoppers across omni channels.
With hands-on experience in multiple startups, digital payments, and eCommerce in the FinTech industry, raising more than $150M money for startups, developing and marketing products globally, executive leadership (chairman of the board, board member, board advisor, executive management roles), and getting more than fifty US patents granted and pending (a number of them are now owned by Mastercard Incorporated, and few are licensed by Google and NXP), Anwar has been working with other passionate overseas Pakistanis to drive innovations and entrepreneurship, create new jobs and business opportunities in Pakistan, and in result, deliver dependable quality services to people of Pakistan. https://www.linkedin.com/in/khanmx99/
Key Points of Session
Muhammad Anwar Khan has joined the pak100 Bootcamp II, 2021 on 1st September in Lahore. The topic of his session was “Setting Up Your Startup and How to Make it Successful?”. The session held for 1 hr. 40 minutes with question answer session in the end.
He started his session by explaining how there is a drastic raise in funding in Pakistan’s startups and multiple investors like Kleiner Perkins who only invest in those startups who have very bright future is now funding in Pakistan.
He told the participation the core responsibilities of entrepreneurs and startups along with the basic ingredients required to be a successful entrepreneur he explained more how to execute to success. In the question-answer session, participants asked multiple queries related to their startups and he explained each point in a wiser way.
